چکیده

Abstract A subthreshold pulse of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) on the motor cortex can modulate amplitude monosynaptic reflex (H-reflex) elicited in flexor carpi radialis (FCR) muscle, a method known as TMS-conditioning H-reflex. The purpose this study was to establish intersession reliability over course three sessions. Eleven healthy participants received either peripheral nerve (PNS), TMS or combination two. intensity PNS stimuli set evoke response corresponding 10 % maximum (Mmax), HM10 %. conditioning effect assessed by delivering cortical pulses at different conditioning-test intervals (from -7 ms 7 ms) from stimulation. first interval which facilitation could be observed deemed early (EF). Using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs), we found excellent for Mmax amplitudes (ICC = 0.98), 0.85) and TMS-conditioned H-reflexes recorded following EF (EF + 2 0.87). Good (ICCs ranging 0.67 0.77) other intervals. We conclude that are reliable parameters assess excitability corticospinal circuits.

The flexor carpi radialis H-reflex in lesions of the sixth and seventh cervical nerve roots.

In 143 normal subjects latencies of H-reflexes of the flexor carpi radialis muscle were well correlated with arm lengths. In 32 patients with injury to cervical roots C5 to C8 it was shown that latencies were only abnormal in lesions of roots C6 or C7. It is suggested that in most instances root C6 or C7 and, probably both roots in some cases are involved in the reflex pathway. Repeat electroph...

The H-reflex of the flexor carpi radialis muscle; a study in controls and radiation-induced brachial plexus lesions.

H-reflexes of the flexor carpi radialis muscle were studied in 52 controls and 25 cancer patients with radiation-induced brachial plexopathy. It was found that H-reflex conduction velocity (H-RCV) decreased with increasing age. This was not true for H-reflex latency (H-RL) and inter-latency times. There were no H-RCV and latency differences between age-matched male and female subjects. In the a...

Proposed equation between flexor carpi radialis H-reflex latency and upper limb length

BACKGROUND H-reflex is a valuable electrophysiological technique for assessing nerve conduction through entire length of afferent and efferent pathways, especially nerve roots and proximal segments of peripheral nerves. The aim of this study was to investigate the relation between normal values of flexor carpi radialis (FCR) H-reflex latency, upper limb length and age in normal subjects, and to...

Flexor Carpi Radialis Brevis: An Unusual Anomalous Muscle of the Wrist

During imaging studies or surgical procedures, anomalous forearm and wrist muscles are occasionally encountered. Among them, the flexor carpi radialis brevis is very rare. Because the trend is growing toward treating distal radius fractures with volar plating, the flexor carpi radialis brevis is worth knowing. Here, we report two cases with a review of the literature.

Endoscopic Ganglionectomy of Palmar Ganglion via Flexor Carpi Radialis Tendoscopy

Palmar ganglion is rare. Deep palmar ganglion usually arises from the wrist joint and may cause compression neuropathy. Superficial palmar ganglion may arise from the flexor tendons of the wrist. The chance of compression neuropathy is expected to be less than deep palmar ganglion. However, there is a higher chance of perforation through the skin and the ganglion may affect hand grip. Open rese...
